It all started in my grandmother's kitchen in a small Mexican town. Since I was a child, I was always fascinated to see how my grandmother prepared tamales with so much love and passion. Every weekend, our house was filled with the smell of fresh dough, chiles, and different fillings. Over time, I learned the secrets behind this delicious culinary tradition. After my grandmother died, I inherited her ancestral tamale recipe and decided to take her legacy to a whole new level. With only a small portable stove and a folding table, I began selling tamales on the street and a local market. At first, people looked at me curiously, but once they tried my tamales, they quickly became regular customers. Little by little, my little tamale stand became a thriving business. I attended free classes from a local group in my city called Icon, in which they helped me obtain a government subsidy with which I could buy a tamale cart approved by the health department. I strive to offer a variety of flavors, from chicken and pork classics to vegetarian and vegan options. With word of mouth and a touch of social media marketing, my business is slowly growing. What started as a passion for my grandmother's cooking became my livelihood and my dream come true. Every time I make and sell tamales, I feel like I'm honoring her memory and sharing a little piece of my Mexican culture with the world.
